Interior cracking noise
I just started to hear a rattle / tick noise every time I drive on a not so smooth road.
The noise sounds like it’s coming from the interior roof on the driver side. I can’t find it out.
has anyone had this problem?

pano- yes
does matter what suspension mode I am in.
the only thing I have tried is have the pano open and see if it happens.
ill have to test it later on this week.

I have a 14. I have a rattly noise that is sorta faint. Noise is audible when going over rough pavement and it is coming from over head control panel (where the map lights are). It stops when I put a lil pressure on it... or drive on smooth pavement Pano cracks when driving up a slant (gas station curb cuts)

The only car that I’ve had that rivals this one in interior creaks, rattles, and vibrations was a 1971 Camaro that was 15 years old when I bought it and had been in who knows how many accidents. If you only have one vibration noise consider yourself lucky!

I think there’s a TSB for the pano, or at least knowledge of the fix. I had the same problem.

i sometimes get that same noise from the headliner at the map lights. I also sometimes get a creaking from the trim around each gauge cluster (took me awhile to isolate that one).

Mine was the problem when, if I turned and went up an incline at the same time (picture turning right into a driveway that goes uphill immediately), at low speeds I would get a popping noise from the pano. It was as loud as if a golf ball landed on the roof. The dealer spent a lot of time (under warranty) isolating the problem. As it was described to me, some of the rails were not tightened fully, but they had to give it multiple goes, i.e., they thought it was fixed, took it out again, popped again, tightened more, etc. The bummer about the fix is the headliner has to come down, and I've always felt in the back of my mind that's the reason why I sometimes get a creaking noise from the headliner at the map/dome light switch area.

90% certain it is your pano. My 2011 had the problem exactly as described, turning onto an inclined driveway. Basically if you force the body to torque it will pop. Mine was repaired under warranty. To fix it correctly, they have to remove the headliner and then re-torque all of the perimeter bolts. They performed this exactly on my car about 3 years ago. Not a single sound out of it since. "a golf ball landing on the roof" just behind your head is exactly what it sounded like.
Hence the term: Pano Pop
Good luck

My noise happens all the time when the road isn’t smooth. No noise when I drive up the driveway.
I did a test last night with the pano open and the sound is still there. Honestly, it’s driving me nuts.

I don't think the op's noise is pano pop .... can you record a video?

My 2012 had the pano pop too. Found a video on YouTube on how to drop the headliner. After that removed the bolts and blue loc-tite on them, reinstalled. Haven't had an issue in 15k miles. Pan in the butt but can be done on around the hours.

Yup, Pano Pop. They will have your car for a week to fix it under warranty (at least that's how long mine took), but after that it will be dead silent.

Would this issue be considered a defect in the pano?
Factory warranty is over but I have third party warranty but there’s language in there that mentioned rattles and noises will covered. This might be a hard fight to win.
