Intake system?
I recently read from bms that the stock intake system on the c63 was very restricted so that made me think maybe our intakes might be the same.
Then Hdtuning said the samething when they where tuning a c43 recently that just changing filters netted then a gain in HP
Does anyone know of a company or custom setup to remove the stock intakes on our car?.
I have been modding turbo cars for about 20 years and that is usually the first thing we change due to the fact they are usually restricted and main goal is to reduce turbo whistle.

2017 AMG C43, AWE Touring, BMC Air Filters- 2015 BMW X3 3.5i (JB1 Equipped)
AWE was making one as well for the C43, but abandoned its research, they say from lack of interest. This blows as this is usually my first upgrade to any car and I am sure it would make a big difference to the C43- I don't give a flying F**ck what others have said on here, when I installed my BMC filters I felt a nice gain in spool up, throttle response and power. I recall several years back Road & Track swapped out the stock intake of a WRX with an aftermarket AFE and gained 67hp over stock so... makes sense, More air = more power. I've never been disappointed with a cold air intake and I have had them installed on 4 cars that I have owned for a noticeable improvement.
Would love to find a CAI for the C43

BMS prototype Intake
Hi Everyone!
My buddies at BMS are developing an intake for the C43.
Here’s an image of the prototype on my car. Definite increase in throttle response, power and the turbos spool sounds amazing. Can’t wait for the final product to be released. Stay tuned.

edit: nevermind, checked your album, indeed looks nice... but isn't it sucking in hot air from engine bay? I prefer my intakes to be closer to the front grill

not enough room to build the intake facing the front grill. They created heat shield under the air filters to avoid hot air from the engine bay. Also, we left part of the air distributor for more air flow to the intakes.

It looks ok but I am not sure why Burger keeps going with an open filter design, as opposed to a sealed, force fed air box? I was going to buy the Burger cold air kit for my other car, a 2015 X 3 35i Bimmer, but folks on the bimmer post say that it could be affected by heat soak. It did gain like 10whp and some torque, but it looked ugly and I was skeptical of heat soak.
This system looks to be the same set up- especially when you locate the filters in the center of the engine, when you put it up front like on some of the Dodge/ Mustang cold air intakes I am not as concerned with heat soak.
Cant wait to see the numbers though.

Hey guys, just wanted to chime in and let you guys know that we are currently working on these and it is not a rumor
Right now they are in production and we should have some finalized pictures of the heat shields and intake pipe/flange for you all. I would say ETA end of month until retail release.
So far from initial testing we have seen some gains in response, gas mileage, and power. Oh yea, lets not forget the intoxicating sounds OMG drool. We are looking to get some before and after dynojet numbers, but probably won't have some until later because of the AWD system.
We placed the filters in that location for the most air flow. That's where the "negative" pressure occurs and where most of the air flows through and exits once entered from the front.
With the heat shields in place we haven't seen any difference in IAT vs stock, so I don't think that's an issue at all. In fact, I have seen the IATs drop with the intakes vs stock when moving.

Yes that is one of the main reasons I am considering a JB4. www.n54tech.com has such a large amount of tune variations I know they will maximize the intake when it becomes available at the end of the month.
Plus there will be no down time or fee to change the tune with the mobile app.
