Power Steering Problem

Hello,
On my 2006 ML500 the steering started getting stiffer and stiffer at low speeds. There's no leak and sure the power steering pump is good. This only happens when the engine is completely warmed up. When engine is cold, steering is a breeze. Why only when it's hot this happens is very puzzling to me. There is also lots of screeching noise when steering at low speed.
Thanks for any help.

Check the serpentine belt, it may have expanded and the slack would make you expend more effort when turning, also with friction the belt would expand with heat and this would again increase the slack as well as create a screeching noise.
