Recommendation on motor mounts replacement
hello, I am planning to put new motor/transmission mounts on 07 SL550. In order to have some extra durability, would it be a good idea to use mounts from SL 55 AMG? They look the same so I thought they would fit. One consideration that I have is that AMG mounts would be stiffer and cause extra vibration. Would appreciate any input on this subject, any ideas, recommendations, concerns. Thank you in advance, Vadim

Where are you located? I just put in a set of mounts for someone this past week, not sure if 55/550 have different mounts or not, thought they were all the same.

After I had new mounts installed in my E500 I purchased extra long black zip ties at Home Depot and strapped them down. Hopefully that will help limit the range of motion and make them last longer. So far so good.

Hello Bahnstormer,
Thank you for your response.Did you strap your motor mount to the aluminum subframe that the mount sits on? Did you also strap the rubber boot on the mount?
Thank you Vadim

The first two photos show the passenger side mount and the last two are the drivers side unit.
For anyone wondering about the benefits of ceramic coating headers take a good look at the last picture.
Eurocharged mid-lengths installed in January - still look brand new.
