WINDOW TINTING COUPE

Hi guys could you please give me the heads up here, I want to tint my coupe but in particular I want to tint the back side windows and back window very dark with the driver and passenger side tinted within legal limits.

Has anyone had any problems with doing this? Hard to see etc? I basically use my reverse camera always when reversing so looking behind is not really an issue.

Basically I love the look of this coupe which I am replicating. Looks stunning.

That coupe looks mean. If you go with a lighter tint on the driver's and passenger windows, it will look a bit goofy. I think it looks much better to go with the same tint all the way around, even if that means you have to go with a medium tint. Just my opinion...

I think I am going to go for the dark black window to match the sunroof and painted black gloss roof.

However I think I will have all the windows look the same ie. have the same level of tint (which will be different to the back window being less dark)

Thanks you raised a good point of it being a bit goofy.

In a perfect world I would have tinted all the same, but I dont need or want to deal with the cops even occasionally.

Please for the love of God do NOT tint the sunroof. This will cause it to explode. Even if you just get the UV guard it will explode. Trust me I know.

Oh that I know.

I meant I want the back window to match the black glossy part of the roof and the sunroof.

Yes it will explode. Thanks for the advice regardless, good to spread this all around.

If I have already a back camera installed on my coupe can they still install a tinted sunroof? I assume they will need to remove it?

Agreed .I just tinted my coupe and went with same all the way around. I considered going darker in the back windows but decided uniformity looked better. And it does.

I've been going back-and-forth on this issue also. My last car had the front sides legal and the back sides dark (near limo). Was great inside the vehicle, but the looks on the outside in the sun always did kinda bother me, since they didn't match.

I'm about to get my current car done (sedan) and I think I'm going legal all around for a uniform look. Considering possibly having all the side glass tint match and just doing the rear main window dark but not sure about that either.

It's really a matter of personal preference. I prefer legal front side window but +1 step darker rear windows. For example, if you go 50%(total VLT 37%) front, 35% (total VLT 26%) rear. If front is 35%(26% VLT), rear is 20%(15% VLT)...
