Have the 2016 C300. Talk me into the 2019 C300 (or not)
I bought my 2016 C300 almost exactly 3 years ago in Oct. 2015. I am ready for a new car. I am not certain I want to get the 2019 C300 due to some disappointments I've had in the 2016 version. I am quite tempted to go back to the Audi A4, which I loved. Back in 2015, I thought it time for a change so got the 2016 C300. Audi had not done the A4 redesign yet. So, C Class Forum people - talk me into the 2019 C300--or not?

I don't know what your disappointments were but have you tried out a 2019 C class yet? If no, then you're selling yourself short. Plus why wouldn't you want to go thru the same trials and tribulations you've been thru before. You'd really enjoy it second time around....

Two days ago I took delivery of my new 2019 C 300 4Matic (replaced my 2016 GLC 4Matic). The updated tech and options were enough to sell me on it (I have been doing a lot of research for the replacement to the GLC, so I was really looking forward to this after making this selection).
I would say....ask your dealer for a dealer order guide...it's 100% accurate on what you can and cannot option on it (the website is not so accurate). Check some out at your dealer. I feel that Mercedes has taken the C Class more up-market and it feels very substantial, for a kind of small car. I think it kind of sells itself when you find out what it has and what you can get.

It sounds a lot like my 16 GLC engine did, but maybe not as 'muffled.' But very similar in sound. It's definitely not same sound as the 6-cylinder models, but it's not bad. As far as performance goes, again I am only really comparing it to my former GLC, it is peppier which is likely due to less car weight and the extra 15 horsepower. It's fun. But I am also very impressed with the ride quality---feels substantial. I've had C and E Class loaners before, so I am a bit surprised at how surprised I am by this.

I agree with the peppy feel of the M264 engine. It really pulls nicely through the RPM's...reminds me of BMW's N20 engine (which is one the best 4 bangers in the world). Probably a bit more coarse than the N20 but maybe a bit more smoother than the M274. I still feel that the M271 in my W204 was the smoothest, quietest, and best sounding out of the bunch even if it did lack enough power...
The upgrades for 19 are worth it IMHO. The little details that have changed add up.

Is that just MB feeding fake engine sounds into the cabin or the actual engine making that sound? This doesn't happen in my 2015 C300.

First, the upholstery is not leather in a luxury car at this price point. And no, no, NO, the MBTex is not as good. Initially, I drank that Kool-Aid. In my next car, I want leather, period. OK, fine, I can pay for the upgrade to leather--galling as that is in a luxury sedan. Second, and more importantly, is the seat comfort itself. For the first time in my life, I find that with about an hour driving (I drive an hour or more several times a week), I am shifting in my seat, shaking my legs (at the stop lights), trying to get the stiffness out. Before anyone says it's me, not the seats, I never have this discomfort at any other time, including sitting at work for 8 hours. I never have had this problem with any car I have ever owned, or in friends' cars I've been in for long drives. FWIW, I am in shape and not overweight.
Other things I am leery about are more turbo lag than I expected, and small nitpick things that have needed repair.
People mention the options and the tech of the 2019. I can of course research that on the internet, but if anyone wants to let me know their own thoughts and experience on the improvements in the 2019, it would be welcome. TIA.

I am pretty sure the seats in my 2015 C300 are leather (although I prefer MBTex) and they are both heated and ventilated (cooling).
The seat also has multiple points of adjustment. Even the little thigh cushion (red arrow) can be extended or shortened.
Not sure if your seat is similar.

Don't get the 2019. If you do I will feel like I have to too and I don't have the money for it

C300 Cabriolet
We were in the market for a Cab and ended up with the C300 against the BMW 430i and the A5. 430 wasn’t close, the A5 is nice, but the 19’s aren’t even out yet.

Congrats !!! The 2019 C300 Cab is really gorgeous ! Given that I have an English Springer spaniel and other practical needs, the 2019 C300 wagon will be the better choice for me. However, I must admit that a couple of days ago when I saw a 2019 C300 Cab, Obsidian Black over Cranberry Red leather, I was tempted !

I have a 2019 fully loaded loaner since my 2015 is having the wrist pin issue. It makes me want to trade mine in! The build quality is so much better. Doors are heavier, no rattles, the engine feels miles ahead of the 2015-2018 models. Not to mention the tech is A+!

Not a 19, but I have an 18 C300 for a loaner while my 15 is in for svc.
The 9AT is pretty good, shifts nicely, but the Sport+ 'bark' is gone, or maybe just not there on a non-sport pkg car?
Not sure if there was any change from 15-18 but the engine sounds a little different to my ears, seems to have a bit more growl in the mid-range. The idle rattle (fuel rail?) seems louder though.

I do NOT recommend buying a 2019 model if you are coming from the 2016 c-class because Mercedes is known for doing major car redesigns every 5 years. Last major redesign was going from the c-class 2014 to 2015.
Obviously there have been minor changes every year but in 2020 is when they are expected to get a big redesign again. If you can wait one more year I think it would be worth it.
