w211 keyless go door handle sources

Hey guys, I have previously bought my door handles from Huskerparts. But appears they do not list them anymore.

I've been searching google for the past hour and I cant find a damn thing. Does anyone have an online source that still lists/sells the handles? Exterior door handles for keyless go. Black in color.

Thanks in advance guys!!

He told you. It's the "front and rear left". The same part number. Order two each of that part number.

To be fair, konigstiger edited his post after OP quoted it. His question was valid.

I've given up replacing these. Bought too many of them and they fail 12-24 months after install each time. Simply not worth it.

Yeah, if these two fail again in this short of order, I wont be replacing them again. That is for sure. 400.00 for two door handles is ridiculous. But I do like the feature.

Keep close track of them, MB parts have a 2 year warranty. Should be able to get another one if it's been less than 24 months. My driver's side is getting flaky but hasn't failed yet. That's the only one I'd replace. But maybe I'll just swap the back to the front if it's the same part number. At one point I though all 4 had different part numbers but maybe that was the pre-face lift model.

And how would one go about cashing in on that warranty? Because these ones surely didnt last two years. And Ill keep the receipt this time if this is the case.

That's an interesting question. Usually they ask for the vin when ordering parts. Not sure if they attach the vin to your order so they can just look it up. Otherwise if you bought it online, you probably have an electronic receipt somewhere. If they attached it to your vin, in theory all the MB dealers should be able to see it. I had mine replaced about 4 years ago under a used car warranty so they could last longer. They go bad when the rubber covering the switches get compromised and water gets in ruining the switch. I'm very careful that I don't put any rips in it.

Yeah, Im pretty careful with mine as well. But the rear one failed on the inside portion of the handle (the unlock portion) and my drivers side one failed at the button (lock button) I will be purchasing them online so there is no way to attach it to my VIN. Even with the receipt and proof of purchase, Im unsure of how I would go about having it warrantied.

I would think the two year warranty would only apply if MB installed the part.

This makes more sense. You are most likely right Mike.

I might just end up leaving them alone and not worrying about it. Although I do miss the functionality!

Check the vendor you bought the parts from. I'm pretty sure it's a 2 year warranty on parts. I think it's just one year/12k for labor.

Got the handles in and they appear to be w212 handles. Correct part number, but they dont look anything like the current handles. No rubber switch on the outside and no rubber switch on the inside. Just a black and chrome handle with a sensor for the lock. Odd.

Just had Husker do a vin search and came back with the following part numbers:

211-760-11-70-9040 HANDLE 500 0 TEST 289.56 1 183.92

211-760-13-70-9040 DOOR HAND 500 0 321.48 1 204.49

Did you install it and did it fit? Would be nice if they decided to update it. But if it looks like the W212 handle which just has an impression of a square on the handle, then I could see it not matching the look of the rear handle.

No. It's definitely a w212 handle with the impression. I don't have the car here currently to check. It's at my parents shop waiting on parts for the airmatic system. But by running the VIN, the above numbers are what came back. I don't see these fitting.

Normally when I order any MB parts online I always include the VIN to make sure they send me the right parts.

I keep reading that the keyless go handles do go bad. Why is that? Seems like a nice feature but what exactly happens that the handles stop working? *Note that I don't have keyless go but seeing so many people going through handles makes me sort of happy I don't have that feature.

It's a problem on the W211. It's a rubber membrane that covers the switches on both the lock and unlock bits. Water eventually gets in and corrodes the switches so that when you hit them, they no longer work. Those handles seem to last anywhere from 2-6 years before they fail. I got mine used and some of the handles that got replaced had the rubber membrane that was torn. I'm thinking either women ripped them with their fingernails or people were just too aggressive opening the doors. I try to be careful with mine, they were replaced under a used car warranty about 4 years ago and I think the driver's side is starting to flake out as it doesn't always work, the other handles which get less work seem to be fine. On the W212, they changed the sensor used, now it's no longer a rubber membrane over some switch. Must be some kind of pressure sensitive switch or whatever, just nothing exposed to water and no real reports in the W212 forum of the handles failing. They all still work fine on my W212.
