Joining the 231 club
Well, after a short honeymoon with my 09 silver arrow I was forced to look for a new car. I ended up with a 13 R231 fully optioned for right at $37K with 47000 miles. I wont get to frive it for a week or so until I figure out the method for transporting it from New Jersey to central Virginia. I'm looking forward to contrasting the performance and ride between the models. Lighter with more torque tends to make me believe this will be a great ride. I must miss the angularity of the 09 R230 nose compared to this upright mess.

Unless you happened upon one of the very rare, non-AMG R231’s with ABC, I believe that being without ABC will be one of the biggest differences you will notice.

From the photos and moroney label it does have ABC . In fact if the moroney is totally correct it has every option offered . All packages and every standalone option. Crazy, I know, I really only wanted the distronic option.

Yes. The dealer did not mention the ABC in the ad. However in the photos it is the only 231 I've seen that the 2 middle buttons on the shifter quadrant are not blanks. Going to pick it up this coming week or arrange shipping. I'll post pics after.

I finally got her picked up. MY13 magnetite black metallic, basically every option offered. Premium 1, wheel, driver assist, ABC, analog clock, lighted sills, magic sky, soft close doors, premium leather, B&O stereo, 47k miles. Put nearly 500 miles the first day driving her home. Im still getting used to the difference between this and my R230 silver arrow.

In my opinion these Soft Close doors are a waste of effort. They dont work like any soft closers ive seen before. If you shut the door normally there is nothing soft about it. If you just pull the door to touching the soft closer takes over. I would never order that feature on a new car knowing that is how it works.
