Reasonable discount for 2020 gle 450

I am pricing an ordered 2020 Gle 450 here in Ohio. What is a reasonable % off msrp I can expect from a dealership and a great deal? I don't mind getting one from out of state if I can get a better deal. Also any recommendations on who to reach out for a price quote would be very helpful. Thanks

Right now?

Look on other threads and find Euro Germantown (i think that's right). They might be your best bet right now but I wouldn't count on much.

A gaggle of MB's
2%-3% is a reasonable dealer - for the best-bangg-for-your-dollar I suggest you focus more on what that particular GLE has or doesn't have - as compared to what you value most.. a GLE450 can easily run loaded into '80's - a GLE350 can be low $60's - that's one heck of a spread based on your "choices".

Is this your first MB or are you a repeat customer?

2023 GLE450
I've been buying MB for 25 years. Most every dealer I approached was shocked I'd ask for a discount on a new model. My usual dealer offered me about $2K off the $70K sticker...not much. Wait 6 months and they will be doing 5-6%

Thats pretty crazy dealerships are treating the 2020 Gle models like a limited edition Amg model with little to no discount.

Also isn't their cost less when ordering a car vs having it sit on a lot?

Repeat customer and the salesman is the one I've been going to for 10 years.

That explains the 5-6% off MSRP. We purchased our current GLS 550 at invoice and the new GLE 450 will also be at invoice. While that may be rare for a new model, repeat customers (like you and I) can sometimes get such a discounts as show of appreciation. The dealerships often make their profit on your trade later so they want repeat customers to be happy and continue buying new MB's. On the other hand, new customers do well to get a 2-3% discount for a new model IMO.

I contacted several different dealers and tried to negotiate online and got some quotes but the best deal I could get was somehting like $2000 off of msrp. However, I decided to visit one of the dealer to test drive last week who promised me that he can beat that $2000 off deal. Anyway, we sat down after the test drive and started talk about some numbers. Negotiating took about 30 minutes and we shook hands for 7.2% off msrp deal. Though, I never thought I’d buy the car from the first dealer I visited, I don’t regret it at all. After all, it’s a full change model and I don’t think other dealers around me would offer that kind of price. And yes, this is my first MB.

You did very well-better than my deal and the lowest I’ve seen reported. Price is a factor but the Dealership is sill more important. There probably aren’t many bad Mercedes Dealerships though.

Congrats, great deal. Was this for an in stock vehicle or ordered?

I just read this after agreeing to 4.5% off deal (without much haggling) for an order expected to arrive in early June - our second ML/GLE from this dealer. Oh well, thought it was a fair deal and happy with the price overall. Dealer also agreed to hold my trade-in value until the new one comes in.

This is for the custom order. The SA told me that the vehicle should arrive 3rd week of May. Can’t wait until the car arrives. Anyway. I think anywhere between 4% and below is still good because I believe the invoice is around 4% off of msrp.

Just custom ordered a GLE350 tonight. First time MB buyer. Got 4% off MSRP. Should be ready by early June says the salesperson. Looking forward to it!

Discount

3rd car from this sales person, but over a 14-year period. Got 3.5% 3 weeks before delivery probably could have gotten 4%.

What dealer? Mind sharing contact to your sales advisor?

Got a 4.5% off MSRP plus $500 from fleet on a 78K car the dealer is expecting to arrive in next few days. Leasing with base interest rate found on Edmunds. The only thing I wish I had done better was a $1095 acquisition fee that moved the effective discount down to 3.5%. Not sure if it’s something that can be waived but I think they took at least a $300 cut.

Just curious why the acquisition fee....did they have to make a dealer trade?

I was told this was a acquisition fee related to leasing.

Thanks seems high to me but I don’t lease. That’s just a doc fee IMHO for the leasing co to process the lease. I will pay a Doc fee of $499 on my cash deal. Don’t you just love the little extra fees here and there. On our Audi they added some Port fees, almost $300. Salesman claimed that was what Audi charged the dealer allocating the Port overhead. Port the equivalent of Mercedes VPC.

I believe that amount is a down payment or “due at signing” payment that reduces your monthly payment. Pretty typical of leases, though I don’t either.

That seems more fair but when I Googled it the definition was that it was a fee charged. By the Leasing Co.
