I agree ,the wood trim looks better than the shiny ' plasticky ' look of the piano black , which will probably annoy you after a while with its ability to show every little mark . Also ,and this would be even more important to me , I believe the piano black does NOT come with a clock . I'm amazed how I love the look of the clock in my car - it really adds a classy touch to the display .

Piano black is great for pics, but that's about it. It wears and looks dirty all the time. Open pore/matte is the way to go. I went Walnut, but Ash would have been my second choice.

I have the piano black. I use a microfiber cloth and a little Zaino all in one polish and have managed to keep micro scratches from forming. Actually easier to care for than I thought it would be, just have to know how to clean and not clean some surfaces. Same goes for my
home A/V speakers with similar finish. 10 yrs. old and still look perfect.

We decided to go with anthracite oak in our '19 C43...you can BARELY see the wood grain, and it doesn't mark up at all with fingerprints.

I was torn between the anthracite oak and dark ash wood choices on my build, and went with the less common one (oak) - all the ones I've seen on lots are 1st) dark ash 2nd) CF, 3rd) Piano black.
I for one am happy that they offered some reasonable choices to avoid the Piano Black ($250 in Canada for the open pore wood). vs $1,500 for the CF trim
