W123 200
W123 200 M102.920 overheating?

Helo All, I'm new to this forum..
I recently purchased a W123 200 which has M102.920. I'm observing temperature above 100 when running for more than 20 Miles. Temperature stays at 105 and doesnt come down
I changed coolant, flushed radiator and checked for blocks in radiator. No issues ..
Engine fan clutch gets engaged at 102. I believe that is correct. But temp is not coming down.

I'm yet to do a carrot test/paper test on the fan. Any suggestions on how to pinpoint the issue.
Also I'm not sure if i need to change the thermostat, Can someone tell me which thermostat i should be having

The car is a LHD automatic..

So i got a chance to do a long trip again, This time temperature was above 100. I stopped the car with engine running, opened the hood and shut down the engine.
The engine stopped, but Fan was free running for some time and stopped. Mine is a 102.920 Engine.
Some folks told me that Fan should stop immediately and not freely rotate. Some told me since engine is shut down, clutch disengages and fan would freely rotate and stop.
which is correct?

This correct the main fan is clutch connected to the crankshaft this clutch is electrically controlled by a temperature sensor (switch) tha engages the cluch above 83 degrees so the fan start cooling the radiator.

About your problem, get a mechanic to check the heat valve the controls the coolant flow from the engine to the radiator (actually check if the engine is hot and radiator is cool the your valve is faulty).
