LSD options?

What options are there for an aftermarket LSD if I get an R231 SL63 without the performance pack? Anyone added one?

Renntech has one for $4500:

Everyone seems to really like the Quaife LSD. They would seem to have one for your car. I don't know who sells them in the states, but this will give you an idea of the prices.

Thanks, it looks like Kleemann USA sells them.

You may also want to consider the Wavetrac product.

Both the Quaife and Wavetrac are quality parts but the Wavetrac has a few advantages that would cause me to go that route. Probably the most compelling is the Wavetrac’s behavior in no-load and deceleration situations. In both of these situations the Wavetrac will maintain its torque-biasing characteristics whereas the Quaife will behave more like an open differential. This isn’t a super common situation, but could certainly occur during spirited driving.

The Wavetrac is also less costly and made in the USA.

Do you know who sells a Wavetrac LSD which fits the R231? I tried searching a bit and didn't find anything. It's also not listed on the Wavetrac website: http://wavetrac.net/application.htm

No, sorry but you can call them and inquire. If you have an R230 why is that an issue?

I have an R231.

Wavetrac said their part# 48.309.185WK will work, although there's a little install adjustment needed to the housing to get it in.

Well if you move forward with it I'd be interested in how you like it.
