New tires SL550
I am considering ditching the run flats...(they wear out too quickly). I was recommended with the Yokohama Advan Sport or the Michelin AS3+
Any recommendations out there?

That depends on where you live. By default the SL comes with summer high performance tires rather than all seasons. Personally I would recommend Michelin PS4s or Pilot Super Sports. It depends which wheels are installed on your car to see which tire has your sizes available.
Then just add the Conti tire fix kit in the trunk.

Agree with Wolf, went to a Michelin Pilot Super Sport, excellent ride quality, and very forgiving tire. But depending on where you live, and your seasonal driving habits, the AS Michelin's may be a better option.

Go for the pilot sport 4S with 295s in the rear. It looks much better than stock, rides better, and is much smoother. However, they are non-RFTs.

This? Do tire professionals get snippy when repairing the tire later, like they do with the cheap, aerosol can stuff?

This is not something I would use for a slow leak and if you have an actual flat you are better served just replacing the tire. Your health is dependent on good tires and brakes (and a good car of course!)...

I pulled in and they helped me immediately, removing a blunt piece of metal that looked like an old-fashioned bottle opener. I asked him how long it would be to get a replacement tire and he said the tire was fine, that he had internally patched it and tested it. I want to remember it was $10 but it's likely $30 now. I have since become a very regular customer there.

I got really lucky some years ago and found a real tire professional. Previously I had always had flat tires repaired by gas station mechanics who used plugs. On this day I had hit something in the road and my 2006 pre-TPMS system very quickly alerted me to low air pressure. I got to a gas station with a coin-operated compressor and filled the tire, and as soon as I pulled onto the road the alert came back. I knew of a full-service station not far away and prayed I would make it there, then hit a red light and thought for sure it would be flat in seconds, leaving me tying up traffic and incurring the wrath of scores of other drivers. I noticed that right next to me, in what must be a converted house, was a tire repair place.

We grew up in Germany. Driving without a speed limit is wicked fun but also at times a somber experience. Tires are cheap and it's one less thing to worry about In the US it is a bit less critical but only on the rear tires.

As per request, here are the PS4S 295s They look really great and are quite wide! It's a huge improvement from the stock tires. IMO it's the best summer tire.
