580 designation should come to the S-Class
Now that the GLS580 has been introduced with a V8 48V hybrid, expect this engine to make it into the S in short order.
Should be interesting to see how the engine performs in real life.

very interesting. my guess is that 2020 will be the last year of the 222 chassis line, and benzo will make all of them with the amg sportline package (free of charge like in past years on the last year of the model year), which, by the way, royally pissed off a lot of people here that bucked up $6,000 for the package during the other years of the model's run. maybe they'll insert the 580 engine into the last year of the 222 making it the first s580, which will then carry over to the 2021 223 chassis. and i bet the tails shown in the link above on the gls580 will give you a clue as to what the tails will look like on the 2021 s580 223 chassis ,,,
