UPD filters

Had these installed and can’t believe how much more you can hear the turbos. I almost checked to make sure my Indy put in the air filters at all.

Getting catless downpipes installed next week so probably won’t hear the intake sound much longer

Link to filters? I'm down for some more turbo noises! How much did you pay?

I was also surprised when I installed the Weistec filters but then I also had the blow off valves installed as well so there is a considerable amount of swooshin sounds happening..

$200 or $300 for an air filter?? I can't believe that anything like this is worth that money.

Correct. High flow filters are high flow filters.... BMC makes a high quality product so just save the 100 bucks.

shardul, any feedback on this?

aren’t m5 eventuri intakes like $1.5k-$3k? i guess that’s airbox/carbon fiber + filters

does e63s have comparable mod (full intake system) or just filters?

i wish we could see the math on how less restrictive these filters are, but... when it comes to making power, air flow *probably* isn’t the bottleneck when it comes to trying to make more boost, right?

You will make no more power than the PCM allows because it uses a torque targeting strategy based on load (aka speed density).

You will get much more turbo/ intake noises. But as it stands, the intake system is very efficient with direct flow through the airbox (with a generously sized intake plenum / air reserve to draw from) to the inducer of the turbo.

UPD filters are made solely for us by Green Filters USA.
We have been sing them for last 5 years so other vehicle applications and have not had any issues with them.
They have a lot of technical info on their website.

As the OP stated the UPD filters will make the induction sound louder.

We can set up a group buy if anyone is interested.

Thank you
