Best tuner in Perth Western Australia
Any Perth boys out there that can comment on how they went with tuning their cars? I’ve got a Magnuson s/c going on my 63 soon but can’t work out where I wanna take it to get tuned. Has to be in Perth I’m not sending the car interstate or sending away the ecu.
Any help would be appreciated
also if there is another thread just post it as I’ve tried to find one but have come up short
cheers

Marks Workshop in York does a lot of supercharger setups for Holdens and Fords. Not sure of his experience with AMGs, but could be worth a try if you can be bothered with the drive.

Yeah I don’t think there isn’t s video of his I haven’t watched on YouTube he’s good as what he does but like you said he’s experience with euros is something that’s steers me away. I’m chasing someone with proven knowledge in euros but cheers dude 👌🏽

yeah mate. Quite a long story but to cut it short I called everywhere and ended up taking it to Brett at formula tech. Not ideal but he offered to fit the kit and tune the car for 2k which was more then half the price anywhere else was offering. Plus he has done one before so I opted to down that path.
would I go back? Probably not as the customer service after was terrible but the the tune and price was well worth it. Made 530 rwhp wirh no other mods, a nice healthy power curve and drove very nice.
all up I payed 14k for the blower kit ( sent from VCM over east) fitted and tuned. Can’t complain.
have since sold the car but wish I didn’t haha.

Customer service is exceptional and the prices are very reasonable.

PEOPLE DON’t realize that clean examples will become very difficult to come by, if nit already. And the ones that do, the seller will want “I know what I have” price.
Same thing can be said about most AMGs prior to W205. I have been on a hunt for a clean E55 but no luck. And I’m not paying high 20s either.

I regret not buying a C32 for 8k when I could in 2019. Now, they're 25k

have prices gone up due to hype/inflation like it has in America? if so it'll drop at some point when people realize they've spent money into something that isn't a requirement of living and need to shed quickly for cash. who knows how long that'll take.

Give the guys at VCM Performance in Melbourne a call. They are who I worked closely with during the development & they have a network of calibrators using HPTuners software (which they distribute).

Prices of cars and houses have gone up significantly since the pandemic started due to a number of factors. Chief among them being a demand for work/workers and labour which had driven the already high wages even higher. Inability to travel. Australians are prolific travellers, since we haven't been able to leave the country or state, people have taken to buying caravans, cars and landcruisers with all the extra cash. And a suppply shortage of new and used cars has inevitably also caused the prices to rise.

I quickly learned why they’re so expensive and why I would not see a penny of profit, so that doesn’t surprise me at all. Most of those countries that I researched have such high penalties on big displacement engines, along with importing fees and taxes, ended up being more than the cars themselves.
i’m guessing the e55s that are going for $50k were selling for about $30-$40k before pandemic?
