Soft roof tension spring
Hi everyone
Please check out the video below of my roof mechanism.
Can you guys confirm if that tension spring is there on both sides from factory?
I need to know if there's a spring on passenger side as well.

I've been browsing many forums trying to figure this spring issue out.
It seems this spring was an MB remedy in later models.
I ordered this part ( #1 ) for both sides and I don't think these springs are the same part, at least not the way they are meant to be used as per this diagram.

Naturally, after observing one of the threads in this forum

I went ahead and ordered the springs which have part numbers 129 993 09 20 and
129 993 08 20
However, from this diagram, it again does not look like a part suitable for my car and does not look like that part posted earlier here.

Ahmed, did you have any luck finding a factory spring? I have a passenger side spring that has broken and so far have not been able to source one. Anything that could lead me in the right direction would help.

Nope, these springs are ghost parts.
However, I managed to use the spring I got pictured above and modified the ends and they worked fine.
