Order/Allocation status, questions
Good evening everyone, I am new to this forum just have couple questions that I wanna ask. I placed an order and deposit for the new G63 in December 2018 in a rather smaller dealership. As of now, they don’t have any updates or news for me regarding when the allocation will be assigned. I am wondering is it because the dealer only had sold one G63 Ed1 and couple G550s? I’ve heard people saying the more Gs the dealer sold the more it will be assigned with allocations. I am hoping that I can get my car in January 2020, is it still possible? All answers will be truly appreciated.

Dealers with higher sales have more allocations. I have been through this before by placing an order for the GL63 back in 2013 and waiting for almost 10 months just for an allocation.
This time around I will be placing an order for the G63 with a bigger dealer.

Placed my deposit Oct 2018 in NYC, my order was picked up in order bank on May10th. Build date will be 3rd week of Aug. to me it’s a long wait. I regret that I didn’t placed order on Aug 2018 with Mercedes Manhattan, that I will receive the car by April 2019. Only 2 months later, I gotta wait extra 5 months.

All dealers know their allocations thru August... if you shop around for other dealers .. shop dealers no more than about 250-400 miles .. "most" dealers are not comfortable selling a G outside their local market area.. you can do a internet inquiry to prospective dealer's for confirmed order at MSRP - you are willing to place $5K immediate deposit - and that you plan to finance thru Mercedes Benz Financial with that dealer.. depending on your area it may be worth sending a few emails..
It is not a question of dealer "size" - no dealer will get the # of G's they could sell... that's why in urban area's G550's are +$10K-$15K and G63's are +$35K.
You might hit the right dealer by email at the right time as long as you are direct and to the point..

My guess is you should get it by January 2020 and very possibly a little before. I placed my G63 order August 15, 2018 and was told to expect a one year wait. Mine was built May 9 and arrives at the port (Brunswick GA.) on May 31st, I should receive it about a week after that.

I put my deposit down back in Oct 2018. Recently got updates from my local dealer that my allocation has been picked up and the built date is the first part of Aug 2019. (In Canada btw)

Mine's on the boat should arrived in Baltimore in 2 days. Hopefully I could have it no more than 2 weeks. The only bull**** is my dealer recently was sold to another LLC. The new owner won't honor the MSRP deal. End up cutting a deal with them, still MSRP but have to finance with it. (I'll just pay it off as soon as possible since no pre-payment penalty)

Hopefully yours isn't on the cargo ship that just left the Georgia port, on its way to Baltimore.... The Golden Ray is now on its side in the.. That would suck for those that have been waiting over 6 months or a year for their cars.....

That carrier was originally scheduled for Baltimore 1st - Brunswick 2nd... hurricane rerouted to Brunswick 1st .. offloaded bottom Brunswick vehicles.. that vessel choose not to repack Baltimore to the bottom ... no surprise really on the "flip"..

Just found out my 2020 G 550 (build date 9/4/2019) is on the Drive Green Highway vessel, currently in Southhampton, U.K. with arrival in South Florida in about 3 weeks.. Looks like it is going to Baltimore first before heading South.

She's arriving Baltimore on Monday the 30th, then the ship sails down to Brunswick, GA to then be picked up by car carrier.. My dealer estimates they should have it around the 7th of October in South Florida.
