Hydrolock C63 ( repairing )
Anyone here repaired their C63s that has water damage .
water has been drained out , new battery and engine oil has been replaced.
car does not seem to crank !
anyone knows if this is because of the starter motor or how do I manually “ un jam “ it if that’s a possibility .
insurance isn’t paying for the repairs
thank you .

Look up autovlog on youtube! He went through exactly the same thing and had someone repair it after they purchased the car at salvage. I believe he posts here sometimes too.

What happened? Actual hydrolock or flood damage? If hydrolocked, then the pistons are bent/busted. The problem with hydrolock is that water is not compressible, so if it gets into the cylinders something else has to give, so the pistons just get mangled up. You need new pistons and whatever else got busted from the sheer force. Flood damaged would be a different issue. Most likely all the electronics will be fried in that case and perhaps the starter motor.

See if you can even turn the engine by hand at the main pulley with the spark plugs out. If the crankshaft is free to move, then look to the starter/starting system. If you can't turn the engine by hand, then you have a serious problem.

Hydrolock usually means bent rod hence the reason it won't crack and if your lucky it didn't go through the block . That is going to be am very expensive repair ...

it was flooded , and not sure if it’s hydrolock
we are gonna be changing the starter motor to see if it cranks .
My Mechanic said it was probably the starter motor .
