GLC 63 New Owner

Hey all

New to this sub forum but not to the board (had a c63).

Purchased a fully loaded (except for night package unfortunately) glc63. Selenite grey over black.

Love it so far. Sold my 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo. I miss her too.

One thing tho...the glc63 even with performance exhaust is too quiet. I cant find any exhausts besides downpipes or the overpriced brabus and capristo exhausts. How does AWE not make one for our cars?

Also anyone know where to source black night package exhaust tips?

You haven't thought about just removing the resonator? I would do that first but if you are planning to install downpipes then I would go another route. Didn't the guy who did the GAD build get new exhaust?

I was unsuccessful in getting the AMG Perf Exhaust to be much louder even with flaps forced open all the time and even with the center section straight-piped. I've sucked it up and ordered the Capristo.

Well I am not spending 6k on a capriati and I'm not a wealthy Dubai resident so looking for something more reasonable

Yes it's too quiet inside the car! Out side is perfect...
Also lots of interior rattles... Tik tik Tik... ... ... ...

You can likely get a custom exhaust for around $1500 I'd imagine. Easy enough to drop the perf exhaust, use AWE simulators on the three flaps, then any competent exhaust shop could bend and weld in new steel pipes attached to dual aftermarket mufflers. There are plenty out there that don't muffle all that much... of course you're not going to have valve control.

Do a resonator Delete. I did that on mine and best most cost effective way to get it way louder.

Any chance you could post a clip?

Did it get rid of the amg sound tho? Not too raspy?

I don’t think so, it’s just a more amplified classic AMG sound. My Instagram has a clip on there @needyglc

Does the optional performance exhaust even have a resonator?

I'm not sure there is a resonator per se from the factory. The central area of the pipes where they turn kind of square looked to me like it was a resonator, but the pipes turned out to be empty at the point. Straight-piping that section increased volume only a little bit for me.

Any shots of the undercarriage by chance?

At this point I'm contemplating doing either downpipes (but in CA smog will be a PITA) or electric cutouts before the muffler but not sure if there is room...can someone provide a pic?

There definitely is! I had the perf exhaust and I was able to be there when they took off the resonator and its quite a large piece right behind the exhaust tips.

No way! It was SO much fun. What were you driving/what group were you in? There was another GLC63s Coupe at the hotel I was staying at that I shot a few shots of. I love that it had some red accent stripes all around it.

All you need is a set of Downpipes - it awakens the beast.

I was with the gray group. Drove my X-Terra knowing I would've ripped home if I had my GLC43. It was such an awesome day. I think we lucked out because our instructor had told us there was about 40 cancellations due to pending weather.
