WTF are these pieces to?

Anyone happen to know what these go to? I went grocery shopping over the weekend for the first time since picking up my car and I suspect the ****ing idiots that worked on my car left these "spare parts" off of my car when they put it back together. Thoughts?

Is there a part number on them? That would help tremendously.

The stamped number that I saw didn't seem to be an MB part number, and each had the same one, so I didn't think that was it. I'll check in the morning and post what it shows though.

What repair was done? That might indicate where the parts are from.

And where did you find the parts? In your trunk?

Could it be that these parts were replaced during the repair, and these left-over parts are given back to you? Some owners ask for replaced parts.

Just the nightmare paint job that I had done that I posted about on my other thread. And yes, these were found in the trunk.

Number on the reverse side says PP/EPDM T-10

and is stamped with REHAU

After a bit of Googling (which I guess I could've done before...) it looks like PP/EPDM T-10 is basically a type of plastic. Having said that, if I search for "PP/EPDM T-10 mercedes" a bunch of plastic pieces come up with similar stamping... so I'm willing to bet it's something from my car. Just have to try to eyeball the part now.

OK, on a hunch, I copied your image in the OP to Google Image Search, and this is what I got. Is there something with the new paint you're not telling us?

I think the link is broken...

I'll try the Google image search though.

Edit: HAHAHAH. That's hilarious. Yeah, you got me. I got my Lamborghini painted with the worst paint job ever...

Ha, problem solved...

Seriously, those parts look like they should be attached to bodywork via the slotted tabs, etc. I'd check the front fender wells and areas behind the bumper cover... lower scoop area...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I poked around and pulled at some of the sections behind the bumper in the wheel well and tried holding it against some areas just to see if the shape would mate up. I know neither cars nor parts well enough to think of all the possible locations they could go. So far I'm not having any issues, I just don't want to end up with an open section that should be closed off and end up with complications from dirt/dust or... who knows whatever else.

By the looks of the parts, they might be horizontal sealing plates that go on the lower bottom of the bumper cover between the wheel and the bumper corners. Except that the exploded views of the bumper do not show them (or any other parts of that shape)..

Completely guessing at this point...

Thanks for continuing to look. I'll just have to see if I can find where they go, and if not I'll take it to an indy Benz guy and see if he knows and what he'll charge to put them back on/in.

Question is fair enough. I had to take my car back to them multiple times because of the ****ed up paint job and then "correction" and then second paint job they applied to my car. I already left scathing reviews on both Yelp and Google and filed a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair.

Look under hood.
They look like some sort of cover for a hole in firewall or inner fender or something.

But since they are symetrical... one for left and one for right side...

From my experience (manage a body/repair shop) those look like inner parts of a front bumper cover.

I didn't think to check the hood or engine bay. I'll do that next.

That's what I was thinking too, but I just don't know where they would go in order to even try putting them back on. Though if the shop didn't do it I don't know that I even could.

It also looks, to me, like they might have been damaged when they took the pieces off (hence the bent plastic tab... thing...) which might explain why they weren't put back on.

TeeEl, check the parts diagram in my post #12, PART 70. The hole in that part seems to be a similar shape

I would not trust that just because these were in your car that they belong to your car. That shop you dealt with was less than professional. If it's not obvious where they belong by looking then it's probably too late to dig into the bumper cover area to find out.
