G63 front/rear diff oil change cost
Hi guys,
Long story short. The dealer charges me $723 + tax. How much did you pay for that?
Few days ago I went to service center to repair a dent and was told by the adviser that my 18' W463 G63 needs front/rear diff fluid change at 2000 miles (though I don't have that stick on windshield). I was wondering why a vehicle without limited slip diff needs the diff oil change so fast, she told me that's what they usually do. $390 for both was the cost she said. However, today I received the bill, it is $361.5 OF EACH ( parts $84, labor $277.5 ?? ), total $723 + tax.
I need your opinions, is it reasonable? Thanks a lot.

When I purchased mine I got quotes on the diff change plus A and B service. I was quoted $300.00 for front/rear diff change from my service adviser. Haven't reached 2K miles as yet however.

G63 requires at 1800 miles (or so). I had mine done at about 1900 and the cost for both was around $400 (can't remember the exact amount). I would definitely advise against skipping it.

Thank you so much for your replies. I had my front and rear diff oil changed because $390 for both was the cost they told me. That was pretty closed to your quotations. Now they’re trying to charge me $723. According to your experiences, I think I got ripped off. I’m going to pick up the car tomorrow, and will argue for that over-priced service.

Frankly - in most states - if you approve a Service estimated cost - then they need your approval to charge over/more - go at it from that route - I would never accept any Service Bill that is double the quote without my approval before the work was done.
If they push-back - tell them you will call Mercedes Customer Care and report they are trying to overcharge you - ANY Mercedes Service Dept and ANY Service Advisor does NOT want you to make that call - which gets reported back to Dealer Management from Mercedes same day.

Ok..so for 2019 g63 is it included after 1900 miles or you got to pay for it?
Also, different but related topic: would you all recommend to purchase pre-paid maintenance program from MB or skip it? If yes, for how long?

My dealer charged us about $275 for our one 2018 G63 for this Service and $500 for the other 2018 G63. When I very vocally (but politely complained) and showed paper work....we received a $200 credit.
Your bill seems very high for this Service, which according to 3 local MBZ dealers is MANDATORY and needed at 2000 miles!!

On The Question Of Prepaid Service
The question was on Prepaid Service for the G63 - under Prepaid Service the 200 miles G63 differential service is covered.
Please understand "most" Sales Advisers, "most" Finance Directors, and "most" Service Advisers won't have a clue - unfortunate but true.
Prepaid Service has to be purchased BEFORE Service check-in.
Below are the current Prepaid Service Packages - and ELW packages for the G63.
Prepaid Service is not refundable and not transferable to another MB except under specific limited circumstances - so you don't want to "overbuy" Prepaid Service - the other advantage of Prepaid Service is that it covers all recommended service - so your Dealer has less room to try to jack you around on Service costs - and less room to jack you around on "upsell".
ELW is 100% refundable if you sell or trade before going past 4Yr/50K mile New Car Warranty - that ELW can be transfered to new owner if you sell or transfer to a private buyer - if you go past 4Yr/50K and go into ELW - then future ELW refund is pro-rated by time or miles used (whichever is greater) and less any paid claims under that ELW.
