Airmatic question - 2016 E63
Question with the rear suspension on 2016 S E63. The rear has the airmatic. I hear the compressor thing go on and off after locking and locking etc. When filling with fuel it also adjusts itself etc.
I am noticing a larger gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the wheel arch , significant ,seems like on 1 side of the vehicle the car is "lowered".
This does not always seem apparent. Sometimes both sides seem to be at the appropriate level.
Anyone else notice this ever?
Any idea what I should tell the garage to look for etc?
Many thanks.

Each side of the car has a level sensor that can sometimes go bad but when it does, it goes really bad not just slightly, but i would change the height of the car from C to S and measure the height of each side in the rear with no weight in the car and see what happens, and how big the difference is.
If you had a handheld scanner like icarsoft, you can plug it in and read the ride level sensor height the car is seeing.

I have noticed this before on my 2014. What my understanding was that when the car is loaded it add's air to the springs to maintain the height and when the car gets unloaded it rises because of the additional air; then the sensor senses this and releases air to get the car level again. I dont think its anything to be worried about

Mine relieves air for hours after I park. Randomly came to the garage 3 hours after parking and just heard a little fart (lol) from the car. Did it twice in the 10 mins I was there. Weird but i assume normal pressure relief while it's parked.
