Should I keep my E Cabrio?
Help! I need your expert opinions….pictured below is my 2021 E Cabriolet 450, which I love! I lease it, and my lease expires in 2024. I’ve been reading lately that MZB doesn’t anticipate continuing the E Cabriolet. I believe the replacement will be a cross between the C cab and the E Cab (called CLE?). If that’s the case, I’m wondering if maybe I should just purchase my car, at the end of the lease, since the new cabriolets will be smaller? And if I plan to purchase mine, it won’t matter if I exceed the lease contract mileage. Your thoughts??

We replaced our 2020 E Cab with a 2023. There is very little difference other than the MBUX system in the new car and the 48 volt mild hybrid system. We only did this because the trade in value was $20K more than the residual at the end of the lease. So the cost to upgrade by three years was reasonable.
When you consider the cost of new tires, ELW, etc, it was a no brainer.
We were interested in the CLE but given the lack of information about when they will be released, it made more sense to get the value on the car before the value dropped on used cars.
However, we really loved the 2020 and while the 2023 is slightly improved, we would probably not do it under the current circumstances.
Hope that helps.

If you love it , its a no brainer ,buy it . The replacement CLE will for sure be closer to a C class (on which it will be based ) ,than the current E class in terms of size and maybe content . Your E class is the last of the breed and I would definitely hold on to it . Same interior as mine I love it .

I'll pile on with a non-expert opinion. If you like the size and smooth ride, keep it. It's too hard to find a car you really love, and the new version will definitely bring changes you may love or hate. With values, how does the buyout compare to the market value? For mileage, I'd still be conservative while under lease...but that's my risk averse side coming out. You don't know what tomorrow will bring in either problems or opportunities.

I just bought my 2019 E53 Cab off lease. I had 19k miles. Love the car, rear seat room and trunk room (I’m a golfer.
Mine had the 48 volt light hybrid already.

If you can still order a 2023 E cab (which I think you can) I would be tempted to look at trading for a new one. You'd have a newer car and if you left anything off of your current cab you could
order it on the new one. We received our new 2022 E cab back in May. same interior as yours with black exterior. Love it. With all the new bells and whistles the car is a dream to drive. The good thing is you can't go wrong either way you'll have a great car you will enjoy driving.

I'd say keep your E-Coupe. The CLE spy pictures have shown an interior like the C Class and not like the spy photos of the W214 E-Class Saloon.
I don't mind if a car has 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder power, but your 450 is a 6, and the all new platform will be 4-cylinders only.
So if you love:
- the size
- the smoothness, and
- the power
Keep it.

I say hold onto it. The new one will be closer to a C Class chances are. Back in the day the E Coupe/Cab was a true E Coupe/Cab like yours. Then it went to the CLK and we all know that’s a glorified C Class. Then “E Coupe/Cab”then finally we arrived at your E Cabriolet that is true and based on a E Class. If I was a betting man I am 99% sure the CLE will be based on the new W206 C Class chassis. Knowing MB this is just the way it is. Plus the CLE will too much tech and a 4 banger and hybrid. On top of the softop issues that arise it’s just too much to go wrong.

But the styling of the CLE is more C Class and it really has no E in it, just in name. It's a rouse to keep the price high. So you're getting a C Class styled car for E Class money.

That being said they S Class and C Class and upcoming E Class are all the same platform, funnily enough

Wow your white E450 Cab looks identical to the 2019 I had. Traded it in for a S class about 2 years ago, I kinda liked it better than the S class, much more fun to drive.

Correct. Just like the W208 CLK. Looks of a E but a C Class really. W209 looks like a E but it’s a C Class. 2010-2017 E Coupe was again C Class but E Class name. C238 was the true E Coupe/Cab since the W124 Coupe/Cab. Really there have only been 2 E Cab/Coupes generations.
