Vacuum Sucking Sound
Hi, M276.952 2014 E350. This is my wife's car and I rarely drive it. However, the other day I drove it and was going to check the oil level. When I opened the hood and got into the car and quickly pumped the gas pedal I noticed a sound. It sounds like a quick sucking sound. At steady RPM's it does not make this sound, only when I quickly press the gas peddle. For all I know it is normal and I never noticed it before - but thought I would ask. I have an (not MBZ specific) OBDII laptop program and it does not show any codes and the car is running normal. The link (see below) to a video starts with the car starting, then idling, then the sound is toward the end when the gas peddle is pumped. Is this normal? Thank you.

Sounds like Air being sucked in by engine when you open the throttle body quickly.
At idle it is almost closed with small gap to let air into engine and when you step on it it opens big and then you can hear the vacuum of the pistons pulling air into the intake system.

Thank you for the confirmation that it is normal It took some effort but I found another recording of someone revving the same engine and they had the same sound too.
