E53 Exhaust Valves

Hi all,
Ive only had the E53 for a month and still learning stuff.
My car comes with the performance exhaust as standard, and when you put the car into powerful exhaust looking through the tape pipes I can see the valves are open.
I read somewhere that the valves only open after 4K revs. Is this just on comfort? Or just on the non performance exhaust?
Im just trying to work out if I need a valve module, or I can just have powerful set in my Individual profile to keep the valves open.

It is true exhaust valves closes more tightly at low rpms in comfort and also doesn't open that much until higher rpms even in sport+ but still opens way more than comfort at low rpms.

To have them fully opened, the valve module you mentioned or EVM, exhaust valve module is a good option. Alternatively, if you want them open all the time, you could try exhaust valve bypass-plugs but every time you want them closed, you need to open it manually.

I have not seen the 4k rpm number before, it's pretty clear mine are open a significant amount at idle...I'd assumed that they were fully open.

If you want your exhaust valves opened to 100% all the time with the option to hit a button to return to OEM, while also making $800 disappear, this will do it:
