Angry Seeking Help with Mercedes S500 Plug-in Hybrid AC Issue

Hello everyone,

I just bought 3 month ago my first Mercedes Benz car and I'm encountering an issue with the air conditioning system in my 2016 Mercedes S500 Plug-in Hybrid, and I'm hoping to get some guidance or advice from fellow enthusiasts.

The Problem:

My AC has stopped working altogether.
Upon connecting a diagnostic tool, I received the following error codes:

B229249 The electric refrigerant compressor has a malfunction. There is an internal electrical fault.

B229271 The electric refrigerant compressor has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked.

B229400 The electric motor of the electric refrigerant compressor is blocked.

Steps Taken:

I've already visited the dealership, and they've recommended replacing the compressor, but I'm hesitant and seeking further advice.
What I'm Looking For:

Insights from anyone who has experienced similar issues or has expertise in Mercedes AC systems.
Suggestions on potential root causes beyond compressor failure.
Guidance on whether replacing the compressor is the best course of action or if there are other troubleshooting steps I should consider.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Thanks!

Hi did you get any head way with this issue? I am also having the same issue where my blower is working but my AC isn't. I have the B229400 and B229271 DTC. I'm looking for the diagnostic tree to this problem with a E350e PHEV, I noticed that after I replaced the 12V battery in front, I noticed the AC was working. Suspect due to the low voltage of the 12V battery. Any guidance would be appreciated.
