TPMS replaced: how long did you go?

Had the tire pressure screen malfunction: said tire monitoring was "active" but wouldn't display psi. So I had all four replaced at my trusty tire shop and all is good again. Original TPMS on our 2014 E350 so given what the web seems to report as "average" life, I think we did well (at 114k miles fwiw). Hope for another 10 years, lol!

So, how long have you all gone (or still going) with the original sensors?

2011 S212 with 122k miles...replaced the front left sensor at 119k...other 3 are original. I hope I didn't just jinx myself...lol.

Hey Raj,

Cool, you went longer than I got. But how do you know which sensor is at fault? The dash display offered no specific info ...is this a scanner tool job? Maybe I made a dope move and should have replaced only the faulty one, but as my wife's driver I just wanted it to work w/o issue.

Still running on the original sensors on my '14 E350.

How much did your tire shop charge you to replace all four? And what sensors did they put in?

On the drop down menu for tire pressure on the dash screen showed values for 3 tires while front left was blank. I also had the tire pressure light on on the instrument cluster.

That's funny, my display did not show three and missing one. It simply said "activated" but refused to display PSI. As in no tires displayed but still said "Active" but refused to let me reset it! Tired over and over again over two days of driving, and it has never done that since purchase in 2016 and these many tire changes later! Since we had a one-tire blowout, I figured the tire shop may have damaged it. So they replace it for free ...nice!, but didn't fix the issue. So they recommended because of age/mileage I replace the other three, and that indeed fixed it; the dash lit up all four tires immediately. They are a good shop (America's Tire, which I think is Discount Tire nationally) and I have had prob nearly 10 family members' cars on my acct over the decades so they treat me well. So since they replaced one TPMS free, they charged me only for three units at around $60 per. I'm in SoCal so yeah, labor cost has gone completely bonkers, so I just went with it. All is well again, so I guess we're all good
