Swapping engine - 2010 ML500 W164 - alternatives?

Hi everyone, I overheated the engine of my car and decided to swap the whole engine Are the alternatives that shall directly fits the car? Possible to take advantage and upgrade it? Where can I find information (VIN WDC1641721A518978)

Its possible to fit any engine that came inbthe w164 into it. Youll be game to make a switch though. Too many engine specific parts in the rest of the car that might need to be changed or reprogrammed, unless you're hell bent on doing something in particular. Find yourself another M273. See the technical bulletin attached that shows you engine number ranges to avoid if you do.

For the M273 family, there isn't any engine with higher performance than the 5.4 L version. Aftermarket power upgrades for the engine are very limited and are basically limited to headers, intake, and tunes.
