Hello, I am a new member to the forum and have a 2007 ML350. I have had a number of issues related to my Rear SAM. I have removed and cleaned the SAM and cannot locate any remaining corrosion. This cleaning has resolved most of my issues (brakes lights, turn signals, wipers) but I have a single remaining issue I'm trying to resolve. I do not appear to have any power to the tailgate (the button to close the tailgate on the base of the tailgate door does not light up, no motor type sounds when manually closing or opening the tailgate). The Driver-side door opening and closing switch does not result in anything, however, the red indicator light at this switch reamins on. The open tailgate warning light appears on the dash. The handle on the talgate does not open the door. Fuse 40 is good, has been removed and reinserted, to no result. My key fob has an issue with the buttons, but works in ignition, central locking works open and closed from drivers side door controls.
So, with that, any ideas? Did I miss something on the SAM? If so, can anyone point me to the correct wire bundle on my SAM to investigate further? I do not know which of the ports on the SAM control the door functions. The picture here provided in another thread by Maj. Dundee would be a good reference.

So just to be clear : you have opened up the rear Sam to expose the board and clean off all the corrosion? correct? Cleaning the corrosion will not guarantee that the original corrosion did not blow component’s.
You might have to try a replacement rear Sam.
