Hey folks!
I picked up an E63S last year(2023) and had spec'd it in 2022. Regarding the interior trim, I had given two option that I was interested in and depending on availability, I was ok with either option
The guy at the dealership misunderstood, despite my clear instructions, and combined both the options and messed up the interior trim.
My car now has open pore black ashwood for the dashboard and piano black lacquer for the center console.
But I want open pore black ashwood for both dash and center console.
So, I asked them to replace the center console and that I would bear the cost of replacement.
After telling me that he can get it and making me wait for over a year, the dealership is now telling me that they cannot procure the open pore blackashwood center console for me as it is not part of the spec sheet that was sent in for manufacturing and they can only get parts for me that are a part of my spec.
Can someone tell me how to navigate this situation???
Can I buy the open pore black ashwood center console online and have it shipped???

Sounds off to me. Assuming the console you want is available just order it and have someone else install it.

Dealers do not look up parts without knowing the VIN#. So they are "correct" (lazy) in saying they can only order parts for you that came on your build, but only because they look up the parts by starting with your VIN#. The work around is to get a VIN# from a car that has the console you want, give that VIN# to parts and they will be able to order it for you based on that other VIN.

This is exactly what I told them, and I even gave them a reference of another car with the same center console that I am looking for.
I'm still waiting for them to respond. Meanwhile, I figured if I can order this online, this would be great as well.
If you are aware of where I can get this part(213-680-04-09), then please tell me.

P.S. Have the dealer install it. I just had a glitch with my center console cubby. I closed the lid with the radar detector plugged in and it jammed somehow. Mercedes tech popped the console free and fixed it. No broken parts (although labor always sucks). I understand the tabs on the console are easy to break if you don't know exactly where to exert what force.
