W209 Trans dipstick length
I see the aftermarket dipstick lengths advertised are 1220mm. When I use a length of curtain wire (emergency measures), no matter how hard I push and wrangle I only get 75mm to go down tube, please help advise.
When I get a second I'll check how far my aftermarket stick travels. It's certainly long and not all of it travels down the tube.
And might be a silly question (don't want to insult your intelligence) but are you sure you're checking the correct tube? On my M112 the engine oil and transmission oil tubes are next to each other but the one for the transmission is slightly out of the way and fitted with a reusable locking tab.

Yes sir, I'm checking the lower tube with tab cap. The flex I'm inserting measures 750mm till hits solid stop. Odd since aftermarket ones say 1220mm in total for 722 tranny. Makes no sense to sell a dipstick with an O ringed seated pull handle that doesn't sit flush with top of tube right? Sorry first post said 75mm instead of 750. But, still different from Benz lengths.

750mm sounds more like it. I think the aftermarket ones I linked to are fairly generic. I know quite a length still sticks out if I check the level. Certainly doesn't sit flush with the top of the tube.
