4-matic compressor running in reverse only

I purchased a replacement compressor. And tested it by using A separate Battery. It ran but the air comes out the intake. I can hear the solitude click but it makes no difference. Did I buy a bad compressor or is there something I can do or replace to make it function properly?

Im interested in what made you test it. Was it second hand?

I installed it, ran it and the suspension dropped to the ground so I disconnected the air line, ran the pump and no air was pumping. I then removed it and tested it using a separate battery.
I purchased it on Amazon as a pacage deal with the 2 rear air bags. I didn't think to check to see if it was new or rebuild.

After i installed it an ran it and the suspension dropped to the ground. I then removed it and tested it using a separate battery. I'm now just took the solenoid apart and think the plunger had fallen out of place or might have been installed backwards. I'm now looking for a diagram that shows me which way it goes. I'll let u know if this works

I think I figured it out

So realizing that I still had the original, I replaced the old compressor with the new one and it running correctly. I'll install it tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
