Question Crumbs on both front strut mount
Hi folks, newbie here, just bought a 2009 S600 last week with 96k miles. I've heard many stories about the failure rate of the ABC system, so I'm coming into this mentally prepared. Right now I believe the system is working properly, and the previous owner did replace the rear shocks. It rides and handles really really well, I'm still getting used to the "no body roll while cornering" feeling. However I did notice lots of crumbs on both front strut mounts, as pictured. It looks like some rubber/plastic completely breaks down in the heat of the engine bay. Is it a cause for concern? Thanks.

They all do that. The replacement bushing conveniently arrives with an ABC strut. Lose no sleep over it.

When you hear squeaks over bumps replace all four front lower arms.

If it hasn’t had engine mounts lately it is due.
