ABC System

I may have asked this before, but I'm unsure, so I'll ask the question. Is it acceptable to have the ABC system on all the time? That is, the only time it gets turned off is when I take my car to my mechanic, and when I get it back, it's turned off.

Thank you.

It is always on. Maybe you are thinking about the ABC sport button. That just changes the mode to be more or less aggressive.

Correct, the ABC system is always on. The question that I was asking, more than likely incorrectly, is whether activating the "sport button," which changes the suspension, will hurt the ABC system over time.

No, drive it on whatever setting you want, it won't matter to the longevity.

The more important thing is servicing the fluid, filter, and actuating the suspension. I'll always lower/raise my car once or twice on all trips and park it on the highest setting.

Front valve block

Ladies and gentlemen 2003 SL500
my front valve block
blew the top off the two large
black cylinders
Initially I thought it was the
corteco black ball
My front and rear blocks have been rebuilt at around 100k
i now have 150k and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen
Dealer sells only the whole valve block
not the hydraulic cylinders
220 997 00 36
This car is not for the faint hearted
But it is so much fun to drive
I have a 98 SL500 and although easier to maintain Not the same car to drive
thanks

I have seen it happen. Just buy a used block, replace the o-rings, and swap it.
