I realize this is a few months old but I just installed iOS 18 and am having this exact same problem. Did OP resolve this issue? I have tried everything I can find. Messages are not coming through but do so on other non Mercedes vehicles so makes me think it is an issue with MBUX and iOS 18 not playing well.

My messages stopped as well after the update. But years ago message notifications were not dependent on Carplay. Both our '14 ML and '14 GL received message notifications which could be read if the car was stopped. Got to do some digging.

I still have COMAND NTG 5.5 in my 2019 C63 and not MBUX, but FWIW I have no issues with iOS 18. However, I didn't upgrade my old phone. My XS was 6 years old and the battery capacity finally reached 80%, so I replaced it with the 16 Pro. Being a new phone means it is a new BT pairing. Deleted the old pairing for my XS and paired the 16 Pro fresh. Had to restore all the settings such as only showing new and unread text messages etc. as all the options were back to their default. Maybe try to delete the phone pairing and pair it fresh. I had to do this in the past occasionally when upgrading the OS to clear out potential conflicting settings stored for an existing pairing.
