After Market Front Grille Impact of Driver Assist Pkg
Just recently purchased 2016 Mercedes S550 4Matic. Does an aftermarket front grill impact drivers assistance package features and sensors? I receive the display of inoperable features for blind spot and lane change assist. Does camera for front grille come with vehicle or is that an optional purchase?

Blind spot sensors I believe are in the rear bumper side areas, so blind spot assist shouldn’t be affected by front grill sensors. However, for automated lane changing, it uses the front radar sensors as well.

I changed the grill on my W222 S350cdi two weeks ago. It is a 10 minute job.
Remove the four 10mm bolts, pry down two plastic tabs on the top with a screwdriver, take two plugs out, pry another four pieces down at the bottom, again using a screwdriver, a little pull and it is off.
Than take a T20 screwdriver and remove four screws at the back of the camera.
Open the camera door and remove the camera. If you want to clean it, this is the moment. Open the front camera door of the new grill, put the camera back in and screw back the four t20 screws.
Now walk to your car and plug in the four bottom tabs, plug the two connectors back in, than align and grill and screw the for 10mm bolts on the top.
test the camera and you are done!
It really does help if you (manually) open the front camera to get it out and to get it back in.
No negative impact whatsoever

In addition to my previous post, i did not remove the original grill emblem but bought a new one (#A0008171901). The emblem did not come with studs or plugs to fit it to the grill. I therefor designed some in tinkercad and printed them in TPU. https://www.tinkercad.com/things/dVL...z-grill-puntje

Does the 2016 S550 come with cameras? If so, will I find it when I remove the aftermarket grille? I intend to order a new OEM grille. See attached pic of aftermarket grille.
