.
There is nothing secret about the shelf in the center console. It was part of the introductory tour I received from the dealer upon delivery. It is quite convenient for storing small documents such as registration & insurance.

Well for some people it is a secret and don't know about it, some of my friends with the E class W213 didn't know about it until they saw my video ;-)

You would think there should be some kind of qualifying test people should have to take before buying a Mercedes, like being able to open the hood, demonstrate removing the plastic on the Operator's Manual, and the like.

Ha lol

I wish Mercedes would have keep the driver and passenger compartment under the seats in the W213- like in the W212 Eclass, very convenient! :-)

Same on my 2018 E400. It's a handy spot for storing small items such as a USB drive or flash card on which you've recorded music to play through the car's stereo system.

I put coins there as it is padded, it doesn't rattle or anything.
