There appears to be an email and flyer going around asking for you to verify your information as MBCA just launched 'a comprehensive data verification project'. What that is is a sales pitch to sell you a 2 set book (maybe) and some 'souvenirs'. Before you give any credit card info, please look at the on line and BBB reviews of Publishing Concepts. Understand that if book sales do not hit a certain number, no hard copy will be produced but a PDF version will be sent instead. If you think this is still a good idea, then go for it. If you have already paid and now think otherwise, contact your credit card provider or MBCA attention Kathryn G Carruth, CEO of MBCA for a refund

I suspected as much when people email you and ask you to confirm your email. They can go pound sand. Yet another subscription I will let lapse.

 

..actually the email originated from info@mbca.org, the Mercedes Benz Club, which means they are releasing club members personal info to third parties.
here is MBCA.org's email regarding this (BTW the hard copy book only happens if they sell enough books, otherwise it's a pdf):

The "Verification of Data" email is legitimately from an NBO partner.
Publishing Concepts is helping MBCA clean up member data while putting together a 70th-anniversary Oral History Project that will result in a published hardcover book.
Please participate in this project, as this is an opportunity to share your story that has contributed to MBCA's history! You do not have to purchase a book in order to participate.
We are sorry if we alarmed anyone with the prior email.
