Tire Pressure Monitor Inoperative - 2018 GLC
Two days ago, I was driving and hit a sewage drain hole, where the cover was seated lower than a few inches, causing a decent little jolt on my front/back, driver's side tire. Immediately afterwards, my sensor came on the dash and I received a display warning about, "Tire Pressure Monitor Inoperative". I tried resetting it a couple of times and it works temporarily, but then blinks and returns.
I don't want to bring it to the dealership, as I know they will charge an arm and a leg to fix something like this. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be, prior to me HAVING to bring it in? I know the sensors can break, wear out, etc, but immediately after hitting that bump, I feel like maybe it was jarred a bit causing it to come lose or disconnect?
Guess I spoke too soon about the vehicle issues being fixed.

Some questions for you.
Have you ever had your TPMS sensor serviced on your eight year old car? Such as when you've replaced new tires?
It's battery may have died.
Did you lose air pressure?
Whatever the case, FYI, I had a TPMS sensor repaired at Les Schwab for $58. The Discount Tire Center that installed my snow tires didn't reinstall the TPMS correctly.

Likely the impact knocked a sensor loose or damaged it. First, check the driver's side tires for any visible damage or leaks. If those look fine, the sensor itself might be cracked or its battery knocked loose. A local tire shop can usually diagnose and replace it way cheaper than the dealer.
