Wheel Fitment Question

Regarding wheel fitment for my 2019 R231. For a staggering set up, will 19x8 ET43 and 19x9 ET49 work. I believe the car came with 19x8.5 and 19x9.5. How would a half inch narrower wheel perform with OEM sized tires? Are the offsets okay?

I think the front offset is 27 mm and rear is 48 mm

Your wheels could work as the stock offset is lower on the front (35.5mm front, 48mm rear). You will need a spacer but even the stock wheels need spacers for a proper stance. So you can make the offset work. Tire width is 255F/285R; all possible to put them on but I think that's pushing it a bit. Personally I'd go wider on the rims for more rear rubber. And larger... 19"front/20"rear (like the SL63) or 20'' on all for aftermarket...

Are these special wheels or why would you consider them?

Thanks for your response and apologize for the super delayed response. After spending a couple months trying to find a a nice set of used wheels, I bit the bullet and purchased a new set of Vertini wheels. The fact that Vertini wheels are blanks and custom drilled and fitted by the dealer makes for an easy cost effective solution. The manufacture recommended offsets of ET20 and ET28. fitment seems perfect with the wheels and tires fill things out perfectly in my opinion.

Continental Extreme Contacts

I’m extremely happy with the way the new wheels look on the car.

I wanted to give feedback on how well the Continental Extreme Contact DWS Plus transformed my ride. My R231 does not have ABC. Coming from non run flat Bridgestones that came with the car installed by the dealer, the car now rides like it should. With the Bridgestones S001’s, handling and tracking were excellent in my opinion. The ride was a bit rougher than expected. It was something I could live with but I had set up my “individual” dynamic ride for the “comfort” setting under suspension with the other parameters set to sport. With the new tires, the pure sport setting rides smother than comfort with the Bridgestone’s. We’ll see how long the Continental’s last but regardless how long they do, these tires are worth their weight in gold in my opinion.

I’ve always been a Michelin guy but from what I’ve read and Discount Tires recommendation, I thought I’d give the Continental’s a try and glad I did. Besides they were considerably less expensive than the Pilots.
