Transmission shifting noise
Anyone here linkage or the sound of metal plates moving when shifting from park into reverse or forward? I'm sorry but I can't adequately describe it.

Any chance of recording? If you are talking about the parking pawl click/tick sound then that is normal or are you talking about the parking brake engaging and disengaging?

Depending on the recording app, there are different modes that uses different mics of the phone, maybe that might help. For example there are modes like interview, meeting, background, conversation to choose from. There are also other modes in the camera app video recording as well possibly if you are not using the voice recording app.

Ah no worries, take your time as long as it is not a safety concern and not affect the drivability. There is something called chassis ears that you could purchase they are basically electronic ears and are more precise in recording certain sounds.

I brought the car in for it's first service today and told them about the noise. Turns out there is a service bulletin about something to do with the axle and they will be working on it. they said it was time consuming.

Same thing. LI is Mercedes speak for a service bulletin. Stands for Literatur Information. German for Information Letter or Literature. It’s a document that describes an issue with instructions on how to diagnose and fix it if there’s a fix yet. As far as I know, there’s an issue with welds on the rear axle that affects the CLE.

Attached is the scan of the work order.
They say it was in the front. It didn't sound like it to me.
Also have an issue with the HUD. Drive the car recently and the HUD wasn't working for the first time. Parked the car in the garage overnight and it worked the next time.
They said they found an update for it and performed it and it worked for them this morning. I pick up the car and about to drive it out of the service area and the HUD is not working.
I left the car engine running and my SA confirmed it wasn't working. The car was shut off by the concierge woman and then turned on again. HUD was now working. I left the car there for them to find the issue.
Apparantly, there was a recent update regarding the tire pressure not reading in PSI but kilo pascals. According to them, it has been fixed.

They still have my car for the HUD issue. They try to duplicate the issue but as far as I know cannot. I'm thankful that my SA physically saw for herself as did the concierge girl, that the HUD was not working when I picked up the car. As I stated above, when the car was shut off and turned on again, the HUD was working. They were contacting someone in MB NA to find out what is to be done next. We shall see. They had to wait for yesterday because of Juneteenth Day closure.
