M275 Experts need your help removing a part of the engine

I'm working on my 2005 SL65 and have an oil leak coming from behind the crankcase housing, located behind the A/C condenser. From what I've been told, this area used to house the oil cooler on the older M137 engine, but on the M275 it's simply blocked off with a cover and gasket.

I've heard that one of the bolts may be inaccessible without removing the timing chain, and if that's true, the job could potentially turn into an engine-out repair.

Has anyone here replaced this gasket before? Is there a way to access and replace it without pulling the engine? Would removing the front bumper, radiator, and related components provide enough access if the timing chain does need to come off?

Any advice from someone who's done this job would be greatly appreciated.

Is that the rear of the A/C compressor that bolts to the housing?

That guy being at the rear of the A/C compressor says there is no way it could be involved with timing chains. The timing cover is flat across the front of the engine. Timing chains are 2" of space at the front of the engine.
Unbolt the A/C compressor.... Nickel in a bet says it comes right off of there to replace the O-Ring.
