Hello I recently got a coolant flush from a shop on my 2005 e55 AMG was driving fine drove it back home like nothing. later in the day I went for a drive, then as I was coming to a stop to park up the transmission stalled and I had to turn the vehicle back on and off to correctly park which is the first time that’s ever happened only had to do it one time to go into gear. Fast forward 45 min later I came back turned the car on left and took off like nothing waited at a red light and everything. Coming back home as I was going to park(rpms lowering), the transmission stalled again so again I had to restart the car to park and was fidgeting with the gear box going into drive and reverse and it kept stalling into neutral. This morning I went to check on the car because it was very odd what was happening, I put the car in reverse and it wasn’t working stayed in a neutral state again I restarted the car put in reverse and stalled half way through. I managed to get the car rolling in drive after restarting the car many times basically moving it little by little, but in drive it would stall over 2,000-2500 rpm’s and when I was coming to a stop basically when my rpm’s went lower than 1,000. I finally managed to make it back to my parking spot this morning after stalling and having to restart the car many times. The person at the shop also told me it had 1 sparkplug misfire just wanted to add that In there. Does anyone know what the problem could be any ideas or suggestions? Has this happened to anyone before? The car has never done this from my time of owning it, it only started doing this after receiving my car back from the shop after a coolant flush. Help would be greatly appreciated!

 

Correlation does not equal causation. The two are not related.

What are the codes? Possibilities include:
- low transmission fluid.
- failing TCC solenoid.
- failing torque converter.
- failing solenoids on the conductor plate
- failing conductor plate.
- failing TCU
- Can bus fault.

Pull the codes and you will know the direction to go. The W211 can have up to 32 digital modules installed communicating over the bus; one faulty module can bring the whole system down. Or it could just be a faulty solenoid.

I brought it to the shop and I was told there’s mixing of fluids, they checked the transmission oil with a dipstick and told me it wasn’t the right color nor smelled like trans oil. Tomorrow they said they’ll call me when they figure out the problem. Thanks for the reply it truly helps and I’ll keep my situation updated. The fact that my car doesn’t run hours after receiving my car from a shop raises questions because the car wasn’t showing any symptoms of what is happening before I brought it in. I believe it could be the radiator mixing the trans oil and coolant but we’ll find out! I’ll keep what you mentioned in my mind and bring them up to the shop owner tomorrow thanks!
