Found our Second G55 - The Journey Begins... again.
Finally home after a three day 2,000+ mile journey.
Snagged our second G55, we were hunting for a g550, but this one was too perfect to pass.
2011 G55 with 45,000 miles. Black on Black
My 2008 G55 full build is here
This truck will be a more liveable roadtrip focused build.
- All clear glass
- G550/G500 flares
- No brush guard
- No rear wheel on the door
- Steelies (down the road)
- May incorporate CarPlay
Other than that my wife will be driving this one a lot, she never drove the 2008 aside from the day before I sold it.
Excited to be back in the saddle!

Well after a whole day of driving in LA I totally forgot how quick I was to change the stock G55 suspension out on our previous truck.
Not going for a lift in this build, but kicking around either Fox 2.0 shocks or Koni Raids to give my brain and back a fighting chance with the amazing streets of Los Angeles.

Go Koni this time around. Easier install without the external reservoirs and less fussing. I took off my Fox's that started leaking badly after a 50k miles and have a set of Koni's in the garage waiting to go on. JackWagon now offeres OEM height springs so you can swap out those G55 rocks. Welcome back into the saddle Ian!

Oh! Springs too!
I do remember your Fox issues and it definitely kept me second guessing.
I'll order the springs from JWO as well as the Konis in a few weeks.
Excited to do some modding and get some adventures underway!

Suffered a casualty on the drive home.
The passenger fog light shattered somewhere along my route.
I always add Yellow Fog bulbs, but found these on Amazon and giving them a try.
Pretty quick install.
Tools:
T10 Torx
T25 Torx
The two smaller torx screws are just under the cover.
There are three larger T25 Torx accessible once you get the cover off, just pull it upward and it will release.
Unplug the bulb clip, its a forked prong on each side.
These new housings came with bulbs. Not doing much night driving until I get the new clear glass installed, will report back once I give them a run.

I've been using an orbital on my paint and going to try Meguires cleaner and abrasive this time. Then follow-up their liquid wax and detail spray. Its pretty critical in NV and AZ to care for the paint because the sun will erode everything. Same with the plastic, it needs UV protection. I remember up in the PNW the tell tell sign of paint neglect was mold and moss lol.

Just finished the insanity that is registering an out of state vehicle in California.
And just ordered a nice haul from JackWagon to get this suspension in a more live-able condition for Los Angeles roads.
Hoping this comes in once I'm back from a little trip this week so I can get this sorted so the wife and I can enjoy our drives a bit more.
