Long term storage

I will be away from home for about three months. Besides a battery maintainer and a good quality car cover, do any of you have any suggestions on how best to prep my ‘19 E63s?

Fuel stabilizer? Flat-stopper? (Flat spot prevention)

If you are less than 3 months due for oil service, I would recommend getting that done.
Set the tire pressure a little higher than normal. This will "help" prevent flat spotting.

I used to go with the inflate higher method until I read a michelin article: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post9129474

That said, it is common practice (from what I seen near me) for dealerships to overinflate tires that sit on their lot, and pretty much almost all test drive over the years especially during the 2019 era have inflated tires so the ride was stiffer than normal.

I was away for about 2.5 months with my previous car. It so happened that shortly before the trip it was due for service, so it had fresh fluids. I put it on a battery maintainer, inflated the tires to the max load pressure on the door sticker, and put fuel stabilizer in the tank. Then when I came back I lowered the pressures back down to normal load and the engine started right up. The longest I've been away with the current car is 1 month and I didn't even put it on a battery maintainer. I just activate standby mode, which tells me how long the battery has before it needs to be charged. It's as high as 21 weeks if I fully charge it the night before, so that's like 4-5 months.

I miss standby mode, I don't even have to put the vehicle on a maintainer with that on, it was so useful, newer models in the Canadian market no longer has that option for some reason.

I'm guessing it wasn't used by many owners. I suspect few even knew this feature existed, judging from the low awareness even on this forum. And as you know, it can be problematic if the car isn't stored in a secure location as it also turns of the alarm.

It is just Canada though, USA cars like the W214 and W223 both have standby mode.

There was never any rhyme or reason for why some models have it and others don't. Even in the US, not all models have it.

I totally understand but at least most W214 seem to have it. So basically MBUX 3.0 vehicles.
I understand why the C-Class or GLC (W206 or X254) might not have it for some model years because they run MBUX 2.0 then 2025 model year they included MBUX 3.0.

Good info, though. I always parked mine with the parking brake engaged even for extended periods, but my brakes are dry at the time and I live in an arid climate. For those who live in rainy or humid parts, releasing the parking brake for long term storage is good advise.

I've only parked my car wet a few times but since it has CCBs I'm guessing that's not an issue.
While dry most of the year here in San Diego the humidity is higher on average than most people think, especially along the coast.

I just retired. Leaving for Europe in a week to attend the Austrian F1 and do a bit of sight seeing and will be gone a couple weeks. But when working I used to travel regularly and on occasion for up to a month. So I'll follow my usual routine which is simply to hook the car up to a battery tender. It's always been fine. I touch up the tire pressure as required when I get home.

If I was going to leave it for months due to an extended vacation, I'd inflate the tires to the max load pressure on the fuel cover and call that good.

I store my X7 during winter for about 6 months. I lift the car and set it on jack stands to neutralize the suspension -- wheels are still contacting ground, but much of the car's weight is relieved from the tires. I park on a rubber mat (bare concrete isn't good for tires). Some people use tire cradles to distribute the weight (
Amazon Amazon
), but I have no experience with them. I also toss a couple packs of moth ***** under the car to keep rodents away.
