Air bladders and pumps for the seats

Since the issue is happening in both of my seats, it’s likely either the bladders themselves or the inflator pump. To play it safe, the shop is ordering replacement pumps and bladders for both the driver and passenger sides.
Since my E63 is 19 yrs old, they said that due to their age, the bladders can develop cracks and the pump can burn out trying to inflate them. My question is this a common problem?
I could live with this feature, but I like adjusting my seat to make it more comfortable. And we are still awaiting for the parts to come in from Mercedes.

Common? I cannot say but, again, after 20 years or so the aging of synthetic and natural materials is an issue. This is why I purchased multiple parts out of "new" old stock off the shelves of MB and store them on my shelves in a controlled environment. You are one of the few of whom I am aware who spends the money to maintain their car to as close to new as possible.
Tidbit of info, I had a coworker who, in his basement, had on shelves many items procured from around the world (including from Australia the last-in-the-world differential) for his Datsun Fairlady 240Z. Right-hand drive so he had to take it through drive-throughs in reverse.

Enthusiasts are strange that way...

Now the shocker, all these parts along with labor for both seats is roughly $3500. Wow....... For that price I can certainly live without them. But when I schedule my wheel alignment, we will investigate this further.
I'm thinking that is the air bladders are faulty we could use Heavy-Duty Vinyl Repair Tape and wrap them, now if the air pump is the culprit we can replace those at cost.

But I will find out the real issue this Friday, I'm hoping that it's the pump.
