Driver side door won't latch closed

Driver side door won't latch closed
Carly (263K mikes) had been sitting for a while while I drove Inga (42K miles), so
now that the rains have mostly passed ( though it decided to rain today which is unusual)
I thought I'd put some miles on it,. It did worry me a bit, what if somethng breaks?
At this point with so many miles it seems like everytime I drive it something breaks.
Well.... I put maybe 100 miles on it and sure enough....
All was well until the seatbelt clip prevented the door from closing, and now
it appears I need a new door latch module.
I tried pushing the latch back, but it won't latch.
It's not stuck closed or anything, it just won't latch.
Arrgh.
The part 2037200535 is un-farking available new!
If it was it's $200 .
Seriously? And wouldn't you know most of the used ones are overseas so
fat tarrifs on shipping. I miss picknpull
Anyone have this problem? Any solutions other than replacement?
Possible to repair the module? I saw people replaced the spring for the
pogo locking thing, what about simply not wanting to stay closed?

Probably something internal that's broken. If you can afford to leave your car unlocked while the latch is removed, you can disassemble the latch for inspection. It probably shares some internal parts with a sedan latch, so then you may able able to swap a piece over to fix your latch.

Yeah its in the garage. Just haven;'t had time to look at it.
I have the 2nd C230. .
Like you siad, I need to remove the latch and see if it's possible to perform some
MacGyver sheet. Only C239 coupes near me at pickpull are like 300+ miles away. .
