Exhaust ticking?
coolant flush
break fluid flush
serpentine belt replaced
pulleys replaced
I noticed a ticking sound coming from the rear right side exhaust is this normal or is something wrong? I will upload video on YouTube. Any help would be appreciated, I feel like I’m overthinking this but I am very keen to weird noises! I don’t hear it inside the car when I’m driving only when I physically go out of my car to the trunk.
A) it has the childish fart flap valves that open to disturb the neighbourhood and these can wear creating rattling noises
B) they are fake, and only two work
a tinkle / ticking from heat soak and then cooling down is normal on many cares in hot weather / you just ripped it to death - but often more up front as that's where most heat is - but of course as they lean out emissions and use cheaper and cheaper parts more of the system can make noise
the bigger concern (from your video) it sounds like is not running very well - you don't normally hear such off beat sounds
It may also be a loose heat shield or a chip of gravel caught between the various layers of cosmetic BS that passes for exhaust tips.
There will be no cooling sounds whilst it is running.😂

I live in Chicago and it is getting super hot out and this is the first time the car has been in hot weather like this since I got it back in December when it was super cold out, and your saying the car doesn’t sound good? Like it’s problematic?

I’ll slap it and see if I hear a rattle, but other than that should I be concerned at all? Car runs fine. No check engine light on or anything like that and again I don’t hear anything while driving while I’m in side only when I go to the trunk to get something and I’ll leave the car on
so I did slap it and I hear a rattle when I do it, what could it be? I’ll post another YouTube link
This exhaust is equipped with valves. They are vacuum operated. The two medial remain closed until "x" RPM (I don't know what it is). The two lateral are not valved and remain open from the silencer at all times. I completely removed my entire exhaust and just replaced it with a couple of short tubes. Rattle problem solved. Not that I had any before.
My guess is a loose vacuum solenoid arm thingy or something

I appreciate it thank you, I included a video of me slapping it and I hear something rattle inside, maybe. Piece of gravel?

The metal fasteners holding the heat shielding up rust and corrode. I had to replace a few on my W204. Replacement fasteners are expensive so instead I used the plastic nuts that hold the wheel well liners on. Bought a bag of them cheap on Aliexpress.
plastic isn't so clever directly close to anything that gets hot
