Hood was stuck shut now it’s stuck open
So my hood release cable on the inside broke off. I had to take fender cover off and pull the cable manually. The hood opened but now it won’t close. I took off the latches cleaned them reassembled them and I pulled the cable just to make sure I could re open the hood and it will not unlatch. Any reply I will eternally grateful for. Thank you guys. (I am new to all of these but trying desperately to learn. Car is a 2004 Mercedes c240) best video I could do under 20mb

I disconnected the cable release that comes from the interior. When the latch is slightly out of place and I pull the cable it opens and shuts no issue but when I put the latch back into place and pull the cable nothing happens.

My guess: The cable broke because you were pulling too hard over the course of time as the piece from the hood to the latch is bent and became difficult to release. Bend piece back to the correct angle.

So even when I detached the cable that was connected via the cabin it still gave me that problem. I pulled out the little ball that connects it
